But now we must run pipes up to the hills and plains, plant with orchards, pubes, and grass for sheep. Tons of water ready for irrigating this entire corridor. Might I suggest lining the hills with giant sequoia, and getting them to survive by adding misters in the treetops to provide the moisture that is normally supplied by the morning fog rolling in off the ocean. It would be a grand triumph for environmental reasons.
